First, thank you to everyone who said such sweet things and passed along the word about the “In Loving Memory” hoodie. I’m happy that the story resonated with so many people and I was able to get across the feelings that all of Cameron’s friends feel since we abruptly lost him. Happy to see the sweatshirt will help his legacy live on.
Getting the mood happy again, we’re getting closer to the Clandestine Movie Rental Club. I have a crack staff working on a creating a Tumblr blog, where you guys can comment and email me essays for posting. Then hopefully in time, we’ll have a more professional site made. And the more you participate in the essays and comments, more club benefits for you. Gonna be a fun interactive way to learn about new movies, that in most cases, you haven’t seen.
In the meanwhile, I saw that Turner Classic Movies released 3 box sets that are incredible for only $20 each on Amazon. None of these are the first selection for Movie Club, but none of them would’ve been bad choices, and I’m assuming you probably haven’t seen 80% of these. For $20, if you ever wanted to have some DVDs laying around for a rainy day, these are serious homeruns.
TCM Greatest Classic Films Collection: Murder Mysteries (The Maltese Falcon / The Big Sleep / Dial M for Murder / The Postman Always Rings Twice 1946)
TCM Greatest Classic Films Collection: Horror (House of Wax 1953 / The Haunting 1963 / Freaks / Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde 1941)
TCM Greatest Classic Films Collection: Science Fiction (2001 A Space Odyssey / Soylent Green / Forbidden Planet / The Time Machine 1960)
