My Top 15 Movies of 2009 (not yours, or anyone else’s)
Quick background: I’ve been creating a top movies list since I was 15 years old, with the amount of movies celebrated varying year to year based on how many films I liked in that time span. Sometimes I write out explanations, sometimes I don’t. This year is a don’t. Also, with the invention of the Interwebs, my list went from something that was slapped onto my mom’s fridge after being shared with only my childhood best friend and fellow film list maker, BJ, to being posted every year and read by people (which is awesome). I think 2009 ended up being a really incredible year in theaters, especially in the field of animation, a genre where I believe 2009 was it’s most achieving year of the decade. Enough explanation - onto the list.
